In Formation is the catalogue of the exhibition of the same name, presented at Muffatwerk in Munich in summer 2026. The project brings together artists Pei-Ying Lin, Anna Dumitriu, Helen Pynor and Solveig Lill, who worked for several years inside scientific laboratories and research projects, in dialogue with lead scientist Maria-Elena Torres-Padilla and the Epigenetics Research team at Helmholtz Munich. Over seven years of collaboration, three artistic residencies were embedded in the Replifate Consortium, alongside the research of its PhD fellows.
The catalogue gathers documentation of the exhibition and the artworks, the artistic processes and residencies, reflections by the collaborating scientists and curatorial essays on each project. The design had to hold together very different voices and materials, giving space to both the artistic and the scientific perspective within a clear, readable structure.
